Respecting the Privacy and Dignity of the Resident

Respecting the resident’s right to dignity and privacy during the provision of care within the residential home is highlighted in this policy. The residential home promotes this through their knowledge of the resident’s preferences, respect for their independence, and the promotion of a culture of dignity and respect, to all staff, residents, family and visitors.

This policy has been updated to incorporate HIQA’s Regulation Handbook – A guide for Providers and Staff of Designated Centres – Updated August 2021.
