Registration and Inspection Management Policy

By Implementing the requirements detailed in this procedure, the residential home ensures they are registered in accordance to statutory requirements. As part of this process, the residential home prepares for, and manages, inspections by the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) against specific requirements.

This policy has been updated in incorporate Registration handbook: Guidance on making applications, providing prescribed information and submitting registration notifications (HIQA, Version 1.3: September 2023) and ‘Guidance on the Assessment of Fitness for Designated Centres Effective January 2018. V2.1: Revised November 2023’.

The policy has also been updated to reference reference Health Information and Quality Authority (2024). Assessment Judgement Framework for Designated Centres for Older People,
HIQA Assessment-judgment framework for infection prevention and control and antimicrobial stewardship in designated centres for older people and HIQA Guidance for the Assessment of Centres for Older People. 2024.
