Recognising and Responding to Allegations of Abuse

All residents have the right to protection from abuse, the residential home should take action to ensure the safety of residents from all forms of abuse and neglect. This policy details how the residential home can recognise, report and respond to allegations of abuse.

This policy has been updated to incorporate HIQA’s Safeguarding assessment judgement framework for designated centres for older people.
